Danny was born with spina bifida with tethered cord syndrome, having to undergo multiple surgeries to free his spinal column to accommodate growth. The last surgery was not successful, and he began to use a wheelchair for mobility fulltime at age 13. Little did the world know he would use that wheelchair and become such an athlete, getting a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington to play wheelchair basketball.
He became part of the USA National Team competing in the Pan-Am games and is currently a member the Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks. When he’s not on the court he is the operations manager at Per4max Medical, a company that makes custom wheelchairs. A man on the move, he loves a challenge, and diving is next! His girlfriend Lisa is training to be his dive buddy.
