Rev. Arthur Mavrode, MSgt. USAF (Ret.) M.A.
Arthur, has dedicated his life to service through ministry, education, and more than two decades in the United States Air Force. Growing up in Miami’s Little Havana, Arthur became bilingual at an early age, a gift that shaped his career as a cryptologic linguist and later as a pastor walking alongside Latino families in Texas.
During his 21 years in the Air Force, Arthur trained and mentored others, led the Air Force Spanish program at Goodfellow Air Force Base, and continued to share his expertise through translation and missionary work. Today, his service continues in a new way: he now serves as a Police Chaplain for the San Angelo Police Department, offering care and strength to officers and their families.
Family has always been at the center of Arthur’s life. He and his wife, Ronda, are parents to four daughters, grandparents to six, and recently became great-grandparents. With one great-grandchild already bringing joy to the family and another expected before his dive next June, Arthur treasures each new chapter of blessing.
That life of service also came with sacrifice. Injuries sustained during his military career left Arthur 100% disabled, living with PTSD, major depressive disorder, neuropathy, and spinal surgeries. These challenges have often limited his activities, but not his spirit.
Through the Dive Pirates Foundation, Arthur is embracing a new adventure. Adaptive scuba diving offers him the chance to move beyond limitations, rediscover freedom in the water, and inspire others by showing that courage, hope, and family love can thrive no matter the obstacles.
