Maximize your impact through your company’s Corporate Giving Programs

Some corporations will help you maximize your impact through programs that donate money and resources nonprofits. These programs encourage employees’ philanthropy that their employees want to support. Companies that implement these corporate giving programs help you, the employee, maximize your impact on nonprofit donations by gift matching or volunteer grants.

GIFT MATCHING

Corporate matching gift programs are charitable-giving programs created by corporations in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofits, usually on a 1:1 ratio but sometimes it can be even more.

The Dive Pirates Foundation benefits by receiving twice as much in donations.

VOLUNTEER GRANT

Generally speaking, volunteer grant programs, also known as “dollars for doers” programs, are charitable-giving programs. That is to say, the company provides monetary donations to eligible nonprofits as a way to encourage and recognize volunteering. Essentially, dollars for doers programs reward employees who take time out of their busy lives to help nonprofits.

Grants are normally valued at $10-$15 per volunteered hour, with a minimum volunteer requirement of about 20 hours per calendar year for each employee. However, your company’s parameters may vary.

The Dive Pirates Foundation benefits by receiving not only valuable volunteer hours but additional funding too.
