Danny Fik
Danny Fik was born with spina bifida with tethered cord syndrome. He had to undergo multiple surgeries to free his spinal column to allow growth. The last surgery was not successful, and he began to use a wheelchair for mobility fulltime at age 13. Little did the world know, he would use that wheelchair and become an athlete. Furthermore, he got a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington to play wheelchair basketball.
Eventually, he became part of the USA National Team competing in the Pan-Am games. Currently, Danny is a member of the Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks. When not on the court, he is the operations manager for a custom wheelchair manufacturer, Per4max Medical. A man on the move, he loves a challenge, and diving is next! His girlfriend Lisa trained to be his dive buddy at International Scuba with Rich Thomas.
