Maximize your impact through your company’s Corporate Giving Programs

Some corporations encourage employees’ philanthropy through programs that donate money and resources to the nonprofits that their employees want to support.  Companies that implement these corporate giving programs contribute to a nonprofit that an employee donates to or volunteers by gift matching or volunteer grants.

Corporate matching gift programs are charitable-giving programs created by corporations in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofits, usually on a 1:1 ratio but sometimes it can be even more.

The Dive Pirates Foundation benefits by receiving twice as much in donations.

Volunteer grant programs, also known as “dollars for doers” programs, are charitable-giving programs where the company provides a monetary donation to eligible nonprofits as a way to recognize employees who volunteer. Dollars for doers programs essentially reward employees who take time out of their busy lives to donate their efforts to a nonprofit.

Grants normally are valued at $10-$15 per hour volunteered with a minimum volunteer requirement of about 20 hours per calendar year for each employee but your company’s parameters may vary.

The Dive Pirates Foundation benefits by receiving not only valuable volunteer hours but additional funding too.

Make sure you are maximizing your efforts!
