Dawn had just wrestled with taking her three children with her to an appointment, changed her mind and took them to day care instead; the next thing she remembers is being hit by a tow truck on the Dallas freeway. The impact injured her spinal cord at T6-7, causing paraplegia. That was back in 2002.
A few months later she was back taking her kids to all their activities, and continues to live a very active life working, bowling, and enjoying her faith community. Ready for a new adventure, she heard about Dive Pirates and applied. She’s planning to join the pirates in Cayman Brac in September, 2018, which she says is the best birthday present she could ever have.
