Dustin Casey
Dustin Casey has only known life as a person with paraplegia. He was three months old when someone collided with his family’s car. The impact bruised his spinal cord, paralyzing him from the waste down. Due to the fact the injury is incomplete, he can move his hips and has feeling towards his knees, however his legs cannot support him. His parents and three older siblings suffered no injuries from the crash.
Growing up the youngest of four siblings who all enjoyed sports, Dustin followed suit, playing adaptive tennis, swimming and basketball. Loving to push himself and the adventure of it all, he has also tried kayaking.
Dustin also works in the promotional world, spending the last few years at Sunrise Identity.
Still playing basketball competitively he ran into another player who is also a Dive Pirate, and when he found out about adaptive scuba he said “Count me in!”. His wife Shanna will be his adaptive buddy.
