“This is my first year in tenure for the Dive Pirates Foundation, and what a way to start with DEMA in Las Vegas,” said Gregg Wentworth, the new incoming President of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to sharing adaptive diving with people of all abilities. “We are excited to be able to continue our efforts to network with our pirate partners, our treasure hunters, and grow our membership by offering 2 grand prize dive trips thanks to our friends at Clearly Cayman and Divi Flamingo.”
Dive Pirate memberships fund the foundation’s recipients’ dive equipment and training. Starting day 1 of the show, anyone joining as a new member will be automatically entered into the grand prize drawing. Those who already support the foundation are also eligible to enter by either increasing their membership to the next level or by referring a friend.
“Not only are we looking for new crew members, but to also encouraging our amazing existing members to bring their friends along! To be entered into the drawing, simply have your friend enter your name in the referral section, and both of you can dive into the benefits together—it’s a win-win! With most memberships available to pay either monthly or annually, on “Auto Pirate”, we strive to make it an effortless way to support those with limited mobility and help them enjoy the exhilarating sport of diving,” Wentworth shared with excitement.
Those taking in the convention can also take part in the treasure hunt. Treasure hunters can find a Dive Pirate hat with a secret QR code inside and start the hunt with any of the vendors listed below. All hunters will finish at the Dive Pirates booth, with a crew member verifying proof of piracy photos and social media posts, then sharing the code to register for the booty drawings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 4:00 pm during the convention.
“Our pirate partners all donate great prizes for our booty drawing, and it attracts such a crowd we decided to do several days during the show instead of just one. We couldn’t do it without them, so please make sure to visit their booths. We are over the moon to see the continued support we have from our fabulous partners.
