Keynote Speaker US Army Major Lisa Jaster
Army Major Lisa Jaster is a soldier, an engineer, a wife and mother, and a trailblazer. One of only three women to graduate from the first integrated United States Army Ranger program—one of the most difficult combat training courses in the world. Lisa was the first female Army Reserve officer to become a Ranger.
Event Honoree: Retired USMC Major Waheed “WU” Khan
Major Waheed Khan was born in England and served in the US Marine Corps for 24 years. He served with many commands, on many deployments. These included the first Gulf War, Somalia, Kosovo, Colombia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Returning to civilian life, someone ran a red light and struck him on his motorcycle. The accident caused a spinal cord injury. Khan now uses a wheelchair for his mobility. Currently, he continues intense physical therapy to regain strength to enable the use of crutches for short distances. In 2018, he joined the Dive Pirates Crew on their EPIC Adventure to Cayman Brac. Major Waheed Khan is now an adaptive scuba diver.
