Vendors put themselves on the map for the ultimate treasure hunt with the Dive Pirates
For the fifth consecutive year, vendors at the upcoming DEMA show 2017 will be part of the ultimate treasure hunt. It is a game that scores pirate booty and enters them in a drawing for grand prizes. Ultimately, the game is a fun way for convention-goers to win some treasure while learning about the Dive Pirates Foundation.
“It’s a fun way for us to interact with people across the diving industry,” said Dive Pirates Foundation President Barbara Thompson. “Who knew a pen with a pirate logo would start a conversation that could introduce us to a new recipient, a new sponsor, new dive chapter, training opportunities or silent auction items for our annual gala. It’s all about relationships, and we’re looking forward to building on the ones we have and creating new ones while in Orlando at DEMA.”
“Hunters” can find a map and start the hunt with any of the vendors listed below. They will receive a sticker at each stop along the way as well as a pirate surprise. Then, after finishing the map, they can enter to win prizes during the drawing on Friday afternoon.

“Wrapping up our 13th year of sharing the freedom of diving with people with disabilities, we’ve met so many people who have made this possible by donating to the Foundation, supporting us in great ways and small ways, and it has resulted in more than 100 recipients now certified as adaptive divers, with another 20 slated for 2018, we can’t thank everyone enough and invite them to join the crew in paying it forward at www.divepirates.org through membership, shopping our store, or donating an auction item to our upcoming Dive Pirates Ball Feb. 16, 2018, “ Thompson added.
