Kim DeGidio

Missing most of one arm since birth, she can do more with one hand than most of us do with two. Kim is currently teaching art at the Academy of Choice in Spring Branch ISD, and joined the dive pirates for the 2011 “Brac with Friends” trip.

Jane Scott

Jane is a family general practitioner in Lubbock, TX.  A victim of polio as a small child, she has limited use of her left side, but with the help of braces and crutches she can navigate any dive boat and took to diving on the 2011 trip to Cayman Brac.

Gerard Miller

Still active in the military, Gerard suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm, and lives with nerve damage from the elbow down.  He joined the Dive Pirates as a 2011 recipient.

Larry O’Daniel

Major Larry O’Daniel has served in the Navy during the Vietnam War era and more recently as a Military Policeman in the US Army.  He was most recently in Iraq until a cancerous tumor required the removal of his leg.  This isn’t stopping Larry from motorcycling or diving as he finished his certification in the…

Scott Palomino

Scott Palomino is a retired Airman that was hit by mortar fire in Iraq that took one of his legs.  Scott is still very active and is pursuing his college degree. He took immediately to diving and finished his certification in the Caymans in the Spring of 2005.

Katalyna (Kippa) Weil

Chris Hocker

Chris is from the Salt Lake City, UT area and is an enthusiastic addition to our crew.  He has overcome left side paralysis as a child to learn many activities which now includes scuba diving.  He is part of our class of 2010, and promises to be on every trip from now on.

David Lofgren
